Well the 'stuff' has hit the fan [along with being in a financial pinch] so I've decided to let go of my 2k CSVT :cry: / :mad: . Some of you might remember me [and the car] from last spring when I bought, it had a bad engine and I got it off of eBay. I never had a chance to start on it and I've decided to start over in general with cars....

It's killing me to write this because I wanted this car bad enough to sell my `72 SS496 Chevelle, which is/was one serious machine. So I'm asking all of you what you think it's worth...??? I thought I got it for a steal last spring and would be happy with what I paid.....

so the car still has a blown engine ? ill buy that carbon fibre imrc cover off ya. if the motor is blown value will be low i just sold my 98 for 3k and it was running so id say about 2k i would pay if you wanna sell pm me ill come pick it up

i would happily take your intake pipe off your hands. for money of course. thats one bad ass looking svt IMO. the body is MINT!

Am I missing something...??? :shrug: Right after I bought it I had 5 people email me asking if I would sell it for a profit without doing anything to it. It's fairly cheap/easy to drop in another one of many Duratec 3.0L's laying around and have one hell of a car. That's what I planned on doing but just don't have the time, and I could really use the money right now.....

Blown motor = pennies instead of dollars.

What all is done to it (aside from an non working motor) to help gauge some kind of value... But im leaning towards topping out at 2k
 
WOW!, I can't believe that just 7 months ago I had people willing to give me more than what I paid for it [$6,000], and now it's only worth 2k....:blackeye:

When I say pretty much every modification besides forced induction that pretty much sums it up. I could make a list but it would go on forever.....

Well if you're hoping to get 6k for it I hope you list out all of the details and modifications instead of just 4 or 5 pictures.

6k to 2k.... price may have been artificially inflated to begin with?

6k is insane for that car if its not running... allbeit the body looks mint but without a running engine you can basically look at selling it just as a shell.

I bought an SVT Contour with less than 62K on the dial with a spun bearing for 1300.00 cash almost 2 years ago.
 
You told me that you paid $6700 not $6000. I think if you parted it out, you will get closer to what you paid than selling it any other way.

I actually paid just under $6k, I thought it was just under $7k but I was wrong.....:crazy:

Well maybe I paid to much for it then, I am just surprised because [like I said] when I bought it 6 months ago I heard nothing but positive things about how much I got it for.....

For the mods I'll have to dig up the folder because I'm sure I'll miss something. When I bought it I went through the list of possible mods and it had every suspention, engine, tranny, and braking mod available [~for the most part~]. That's a big reason why I got it, I planned on putting in another 3.0L in and having a blast with it.....

well i would rather you drop a 3L or a 2.5L in it than part it out, or sell it! so good luck and i hope everything works out bud.
 
ive already gone back and read that thread but the ebay link is obviously expired and the thread doesnt tell me anything
you posted a pic of a car with a blown motor that is all .
i said 2k which knowing nothing about the car except the body is in good shape which is the only reason i said 2k .what did you expect?
without this laundry list of mods which im guessing doesnt include a turbo?
2k is a hefty offer. once this mod list presents itself i will obviously be able to tell you more of what the value is .
but i can tell you right now that car regaurdless of its mods is not worth 6k with a blown motor theres running 3l cars with laundry lists of mods in the classifieds for this price
 
That car is very well done. Even an Accusump. Appears to have everything. Still no way I'd pay that kind of $ for it. Maybe 3k. Blown engine = paper weight. Not too many ppl know how do an engine properly in these cars on top of it. The market for them is 0. How many ppl really mod a Contour? Especailly 8 years out of production. I bought this last year for 2k. Not even a blown engine.
