So I ordered one of the infamous, coveted, and elusive carbon fiber cowl hoods. Here:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...STRK:MEWA:IT&viewitem=&item=190157701283&rd=1

I messaged the guy about shipping and how some of you said your hoods were chipped, and he said they had confronted this issue recently and resolved it with better packaging and tougher boxes. This is good.

The problem here, is that he asked me if I want my vents functional or not.

Do I want vents? I just have a basic K&N drop-in cold air intake; No turbo kit or anything, no real need for high airflow.

So would real, functional vents be a waste of time? Would they just let rainwater in on my engine? I do, after all, live around Seattle, and it rains a LOT here. Would the extra airflow help significantly? please help, he's waiting for my answer... Thanks!

Is there an extra cost? If not I say go ahead and make them functional. If there is an extra cost then maybe not. It may not really help that much performance wise so if you're worried about the engine getting wet then don't worry about it
