Gas Pedal

Driving to work this morning in my 98 Contour SE V6 DOHC 207000 Miles and I notice a slight difference in my gas pedal. I now have very little play in the pedal. I basically have to push it to the floor to exellerate. and that is only a short distance to the floor board. Do I need to adjust the throttle cable? HELP!!!!

Make sure the cable or the clips did not come out.

on inspection, everything looks attached.

I found a clip that was broken. It looks like a mini box-head wrench that is made of plastic....Where can I find this?
