Finally found my intermittent vacuum leak - the two manifold vacuum hard lines are leaking where they connect to the intake.

Anyone happen to know if there's a replacement grommet or seal that will keep these little buggers from leaking again?

If so, part number and a replacement procedure? I did my UIM/LIM gaskets a few years ago so I know how to do the hose disconnect, just need to make the joint leak-tight.

Well, there are no brass inserts visible (yet). Perhaps they're under the plastic retaining collar. Can't take the car completely out of service while waiting for parts... so I need to hasve the correct ones on hand before disassembling.

I saw the reference to them in Ray's write-up as a suggested part, but the writeup makes no further mention of them and I hadn't found anything that mentioned the proper sealing mechanism to ensure a leak-free connection.

Probably will stop by a Ford store today and look at their diagrams to confirm if that is the part I need.

From the top of the intake, to the bottom.... it goes like this: plastic retainer (with metal outer ring), o-ring, brass pressed-in fitting. The kit *should* come with all that... but you most likely won't need to swap out the brass fitting.

Yep. Picked up a "CONNECTOR F5RZ-2A411-A" on Friday.

Already assembled (Damn!) brass insert, o-ring at inside base of insert, and the sliding locking collar.

When I took my lines loose, I could see that the o-rings had hardened and broken causing the vacuum leaks.

Since I had only picked up one seal kit, I replaced one of them using the drill bit method which finally worked. I was able to install a temporary -ring on the other line until I can get another kit.

If the collar had not been installed into the insert already or if I had been able to get it disassembled (just would have taken a bit more time), I could have used only the o-ring and the replacement collar.

I just bought the brass insert with plastic piece. Took the plastic piece out of the new one and put it in the brass insert in the UIM.
