3L exhaust manifolds on 2.5L

Howdy all, been a veeeeryy long time thus the reason for my assine question (memory is whacked out now in my age....LOL) so as the thread asks

Will 3L (2001 Taurus 24v) factory headers fit onto the 2.5L

I recently posted these for sale and have been adsked numerous times and I just dont remember if they will fit. I know they bolt up - I have the 2.5 MSDS headers on there..

Based on my post above, I’m the lucky winner. Last night I received the 3L exhaust manifolds and from an eyeball comparison, they look identical to the 2.5L manifolds already on my car.

I need the front due to a P0430 code. From what I could see, it doesn’t appear to be going through the radiator. So there is still hope.

If they don't fit, I'm sure I can find a Taurus owner with a pre-cat inefficiency code that would be happy to take them off my hands.

Are you sure they are Taurus? The escape manifolds are almost identical to the contour manifolds, in fact the front is a direct replacement but the rear is a bit different though I haven't tested if it will still work.

On the Taurus the font one is a larger cast iron piece with a bolt on cat I think, Unless they changed it in later years??
 
Those don't look like the Taurus manifolds that I'm familiar with. The early 3.0 Duratec manifolds in the Taurus didn't include pre-cats.

I may be out of touch on the 01 and newer Taurus. Perhaps someone that has purchased an 01 or newer Taurus engine can add their comments. The ones pictured look like they may be from an Escape.
