has anyone modified or created a mirko style splitter for the SE front bumper? i want something to match my SE sideskirts. anyone made a fiberglass bumper add on? like a lip kit

nope, never.

Mirko Racing was contacted to make one but the interest wasn't there.

easiest thing you can do is get a lip from a pre98 mystique and put that on ...

thats what i did but i want to make it a little more form fitting. because i dont have an SVT i kinda want to embrace that fact and leave the spotlight for the true SVTs though i would like to have an SeVT like yours. anyone good with fiberglass? i figure i might make my own using fiberglass and the mystique lip as a template

From what I remember during my time here a couple years back, I heard of someone successfully doing the following:

1. Buy an SVT bumper.

2. Cut off (or have a body shop cut off) the lower half (or lower 6-8 inches or so) of the SVT bumper). This is the part that the Mirko splitter actualy attaches to, so cut off enough for the splitter to attach to (duh).

3. Have a creative body shop who is up to the challenge chop off the lower part of your own bumper, and graft the bottom of the SVT bumper to the top of your original. They'll need to use bondo, some mounts, and some creativity to make it look decent, but if some guy can literally graft the entire back end of a corvette chassis onto a honda prelude (yes i saw this done, on this very forum actually), then this is perfectly possible.

4. Have the Mirko splittet attached, painted, and voila! It's probably a bit pricey and will take some ingenuity and determination, but A.) it's the only way to get an SVT bumper onto your car, and B.) it will get you some serious rcognition in the ConTique community. I'd love to see it done.

OK, he has a 98+, so if he buys a SVT Bumper, juse put the mirko on it, and put it on the car?! Why go through the hassle of cutting it? and molding it?

precisely i am actually trying to match something to my sideskirts (SE) for the front to give it a little proportion. i would like to get an svt bumper but that requires a decent amount of money...i dont have right now. i also want to keep it an SE for now until i get it lowered and everything else done to it. i have an airdamn from a mystique and would like to do some fiberglassing to it to make it a little more prominent but dont have the knowledge to create it yet. i can paint it myself once complete but until then... looking for ideas. who is the guy who does all the photoshoping on here? could you use your awsome mind to design me a basic lip design using the mystique airdamn as a template? how do you post pics on here anyway?

If you don't have the funds/skills/motivation do get the SVT front bumper/mirko/skirts/rear, goto your local junkyard and snag yourself a 95-97 Mystique lower front lip/air dam and stick it on your SE. I just did this today, its too dark/rainy to post pics, but I will tomorrow. I paid $30 for mine and it will look brand new once I polish it with some 303 protectant.

The only other person that I know who did this is Zerohour, which is who inspired me to do this.

here's a thread of his with lots of pics/angles of the lip: http://www.contour.org/ceg-vb/showthread.php?t=17134

You could always find a razzi kit(pictured on the left):

thats not bad looking for an se who doesnt want to be a svt clone... and the front lip is under 2 bills...

why did i make you laugh?

you didn't. he laughed at the overly complicated post that you were commenting on originally.

I agree. With a little effort, I think that razzi kit could be made to look fairly nice.

i saw a car, an se v6, with the razzi kit, complete kit installed, and i was driving next to it down a fairly busy street, i almost crashed twice looking at it, it looked awesome! i was impressed with the way it looked, i wanted to get one for my wifes car, but she wouldnt let me (oh well) but it is a nice looking kit for those who dont want the elusive "fake svt"

btw, that mystique looks sexy with the razzi kit... nicest mystique ive seen on here actually!

my wifes car might become my daily driver when she gets a fusion, and i think i might get this kit for it, and put my konigs on it since i want 18" for the svt!
