As I've mentioned in another post, I'm plannin on getting some head work done. The question I have is:

Assuming I'm going to be porting my stock head, and I'm not modding the engine itself otherwise, would I bennefit from larger valves?

that depends on what kind of power you are planning on making. the stock setup is good for 200+ (not sure where it stops at). after looking at my dyno plot and doing some calculations i know i have maxed out something. either the head, cams, intake manifold or my downpipe, im not sure what yet.

if your gonna be doing cams (although good luck findng pre98 cams) then you will benifit from going to larger valves. you might even see a gain with stock cams but it wont be as big as with aftermarket ones.

considering getting performance valves and cams and the works myself. sure, the hp bonus rocks, but i really like the more balanced engine and much higher redline.
