so since a few months ago my rear end has begin to sag..... now its to the point where i can have 1 person or maybe two in the back and it will rub like crazy everywhere.

so ive decided to just replace everything because i plan on keeping the car for a while, im about 95% positive its the springs and thats what my instuctor at UTI told me as well, but im going to get a set of coilovers w/o struts (or ill get a set with struts if its not insanley expensive) but i need a strut that will hold up to the coilovers, rather than just a stock replacement although the guy at the NAPA in my school said that new Moog struts or some other company would hold up fine to lower springs but im not sure....

so im looking to spend under $350 on these struts, whether they are slightly used or whatever it doesnt matter i just think even if my struts where good they wouldnt hold coilover springs.

(ps im buying a new suspension after i tune my car later this month)

I'd get some KYB Gr2's

I think you can pick up a set for less than 350 shipped, from ajusa.

KYBs absolutly suck for our cars. the only thing that i would say WILL hold up to coilovers are Koni's.

no offense but your going to UTI and you dont know what brand struts are good (much less not to listen to the guy at napa)? which branch campus are you at and how many classes have you taken already?

I graduated from the Glendale Heights campus a year ago so im curios.

iirc he just started this fall .... and again how about you get a tune for that motor so you can keep the car for a long time, new struts/springs are pretty much useless if you have a paper weight of an engine ....

I see a lot of posts that have good and cheap as the subject no matter what parts are being discussed. I'd like to offer that, IMHO, these terms are generally mutually exclusive to one another. In other words, good does not come cheaply. If you want the best bang for the buck it usually requires that you use stock parts instead of aftermarket custom stuff. Obviously Ford built these cars to haul four (or five) people in them so you know that factory stuff will work for sure.

I am sporting the KYB Gr2's and Vogtland springs, this is my first lowered car but the Gr2's feel a little too bouncy for me. I was in a pinch and got what I could afford, Im pretty sure I paid $279 shipped for the struts from shox.com.

what is out there for the mondeo? Do they have more options when it comes to struts than what is available for the CSVT?

I thought that the KYB Gr2's where not meant for lowering springs

yup, you don't want to use lowering springs with KYB's

What struts are available?
Brand/ Model/ Adjustable?/ Lowering Advised?
Koni/ Yellow/ Yes/ Yes
Bilstein/ Sprintline/ No/ yes
B.A.T/ Euro / No/ With BAT or similar springs
Ford/ ST200/ No/ Spring perch is 1" lower, not necessary
KYB/ GR2/ No/ No
Sachs/ Super Gas/ No/ No
Spax/ Sport/ No/ No

Well If you are going to track your car, I would totally agree, but as far as a street car KYB's + Lowersprings I would do. Ive riddin in a SVT with KYB's and H&R's and it is a very nice ride.
