I've came across this on a Porsche site. The egnie is not on a Contour/Mystique or in a Ford for that matter but still I thoguht you guys/girls might be interested in this.

Here's what was done to get 210hp on all moto:

- Higher compression
- Hotter cams
- FI w/individual throttle bodies
- Improved flow through the head
- Pectel T2 ECU
- Higher rpm (7500 max)

Some pics of the car and the engine.

Before i even saw the pics i knew it was going to be in a caterham 7. its apparently a pretty popular engine choice for that car over in Europe.

or from burton power

i have one of their 2006 catalogs. there is so much good stuff in there for the zetec. the only problem is the exchange rate makes it all super expensive.

Thought about doing that exact setup...but it didn't really seem cost effective especially with the conversion rates and shipping.

that's pretty rad, is that the exhaust?

those are air horns/funnels for an individual throttle body setup. very cool but i would rather have the turbo :D

you can do bike carbs conversions on the zetec, using bike carbs from Yamaha R1 or suzuki GSXR1000 or similar and it works out very cheap and some people have got 200bhp at the flywheel.

emissions isnt too good though.

some people have spaced the bike carbs out to match the zetec head intake ports and fixed them to part of the focus SVT/ST170 inlet manifold.

some examples and details here:

zetec is very popular for tuning and retro-fitting in the UK for old-school fords, kit cars, westfield/caterhams, and in the UK ford escort.

for some reason not many people go very far tuning the mondeo zetecs (or V6 for that matter) in the UK, but zetec is very popular outside of the mondeo world!

there is a 480bhp 180mph front-wheel-drive fiesta zetec turbo in the UK, and it handles....
