Closing and opening works fine. I did this custom setup with overnight parts from Japan.

Actually I got the hood struts off of a Diamete in a junk yard. They and OEM Mitsubishi.

Well not the closing action but the being closed, the Redline kit usually leaves people with a little bit of hood/fender gap because the hood doesn't close all the way where the strut is.

just fitted a set of these myself

My car has them on it - but I'm sure you didn't look close enough to notice.. Yeah - the hood sits up a bit, but it isn't too obvious on a black car - espically as beat up as mine. It wouldn't look good on your car - I'm thinking of plasma cutting a little piece of the fender pinch welds out so I can build a braket that sits under the fender lip so the mounting point of the strut sits lower - possibly low enough to creat a small "dead" spot where it would be low enough that the strut wouldn't have any lifting power at near bottom.

So are you saying the gap is just because the strut is lifting even when the hood is closed? I thought it was just a clearance issue or something....

Exactly - You can very easily push down on the hood and it closes more - so I really thing the struts are trying to open the hood more when it is closed. So lowering the fender mount would, in theory, create a dead spot so it would close all of the way..

For the 8000 time for people we don't read an entire thread and just post...

Blue is darker then what it is. My camera is spedly and uses color correction and flash (mainly cause my car is black). Its "ford" blue engine paint. If you are still confused, look directly at the oval in your grill (assuming its still there) and have someone let out the parking brake/gear. I think the color my come very apparent at that point.

Okay so did another mod tonight, but took these pictures:

Yes, better. Upgraded front brakes, tasteful aftermarket wheels, a nice Mystique front lip, grille mesh, a functional hood scoop, dual exhaust, and some suspension work.

- Paitning the calipers bule is un upgrade?

- The wheels are nice, but the rest of the junk takes away from the effect of this improvement.

- The Mystique front lip ends a few inches early and doesn't blend with the front bumper at all. If you ask me, it looks worse than without it.

- Grill mesh......well whats the point of this mod???? To cut the bugs up before they hit the condensor?

- Functional hood scoop??? What is YOUR definition of "functional"? It pushes air behind the upper intake manifold. If anything it cools the firewall and mayve the top of the exhaust manifold. The hot air intake system, another swell mod, is to the far left and away from the scoop. IF the air filter was isolated and below the scoop, then I would call it functional.

- The springs are nice, the shocks, not so much and the dual exhaust (if it is a true dual with a properly designed X cross over) is nice too.

BUT just look at the car the way it is!!! What is you first impression?? Mine was stated earlier.

Imo000 Knock it off!!!! We understand your opinion move along

There is your warning, next post like this and more action will be taken.

Understand?

dude ur gehy. first off the hood scoop pushes air to the air filter sartamss. it was some great fiberglass work i think. and yeah i saw it in person. bigger brakes which when we say upgraded means umm bigger. most cars duals are fake. get with it. its not a muscle car so unless hes going to push huge amount of exhuast theres no need. most mods are done to be different. so his car doesnt end up looking like yours. i like the lip its different.
ps. learn to be nice karma will come and get you someday
ps ps sorry steeda i just had to say sumthing i just hate it when people do things like that
