Edit: Nevermind, they just called back with a solution! They had the tension wrong on the sway bar, so it was popping up. Fixed now and I can go on vacation happily
Thanks anyway!
Hi guys... this is kind of a rush request, but any ideas are appreciated!
I took my car in on wednesday with a wobbling in the steering, and they replaced my front passenger side wheel bearing. Yesterday, I noticed that when I turned left or hit a bump while driving, I hear a noise from the steering. It sounds like two parts are hitting each other, and I can feel it in the steering and at my feet. This *only* happens when the car's in motion, and only while turning left or hitting a bump. The shop is at a loss to figure out the cause, and I'm _supposed_ to be leaving on vacation -- driving in the car -- in a few hours.
The ideas I've come up with on potential causes, from my very limited knowledge:
- Cracked CV joint?
- bad/improperly packed bearing
- something misaligned in the steering assembly
- Tool left behind?
Can you guys come up with any other ideas? Anyone seen this before?
-Tom
P.S. You guys have been really helpful in the past, so thanks for that!
