Just to throw it out there, Circuit City has keyless entry for like $120 installed

Thank you!!! I will call them. CC installed my radio and did a damn good job.

Do you know if that includes the trunk popper?

I wonder if they have a keyless/alarm combo as well? If not, its no big deal.

Well I know it has the button for it.. but I've never really though about it since the trunk release in the car is different than a trunk pop button. You'd need the solenoid and all that.

They do have a keyless/alarm combo but IMO alarms aren't worth it. If you really wanna keep your car protected you need to get the 2 way pager.. but those are like $450 or something installed.

I had a Clifford alarm/keyless entry in my Contour. It was extraordinary and I miss it a lot .. far more reliable than the dealer-installed Ford system I had, the remotes had excellent range.

Even if didn't have power locks you can still get it ... just a ton more work. My dad installed power door locks and my Contour's old keyless entry (the dealer-installed) into their Miata.

if you've got time and confidence i bought a do it yourself starter/keyless entry system for like 50 bucks and installed it myself in a couple of hours. they really aren't hard to do and it worked like a champ until my car got totaled. just throwing that out there.

i don't know, personally i don't think people even pay attention to alarms going off any more... anyways as far as doing it yourself i had exactly no electrical experience and i installed it without a hitch, so if you want to i can almost guarantee you can do it.

I agree. I bought a system from JC Whitney for $45 and got 5 years of good use out of it. When the FOBs finally went bad (buttons broke) I bought another identical system and just plugged the new brain in and used the new remotes.

If you can do simple wiring you can do this, There is even a how-to somewhere.

if you can make the difference between colours, have a little imagination, read instructions carefully and know how to hook up 2 wires together, YOU CAN DO IT! my sister installed a remote entry system for her car, hence....
