im wanting to swap my front brake hardware to E1 spec/non SVT caliper. is this a bolt on with the proper stuff?

im looking for the future here, with a warmonger bracket kit and the availability of ebc pads.

any advice/recommendations?

Can't you use either the E0/E1 brakes with the warmonger kit? If you can use either, the E0 is probably the better way to go as it covers a slightly larger area than the E1 does...

yea i realize that but i want to be able to but ebc pads for it and i dont think i can do that currently.

i ordered a brake kit, slotted/drilled and with high perf. pads and the fronts are from an E1 although i SPECIFICALLY emailed saying it was an early 98, so i was lucky because Greg B had an extra set of E1 calipers and brakes so i have those i just need to spend a hour or two with an electric wire brush because they look like they have been sitting in a sewer for 2 years... then paint them and install! btw the E1 rotors are also way bigger, the guys auction said stock size but the front rotors i have are several inches larger than stock.

except all SVTs had 278 mm front rotors, E0 or E1 .... you got the wrong ones ... only the caliper was different ....

Yup, here's the rundown on SVT brakes...

E0 ONLY
- Different caliper and bracket from all other contours (Was taken directly off of one of the Mondeo cars IIRC ST220)
- Slightly larger pad surface area than non-svt and E1
- Different caliper spring (hard to find, BAT is likely the only source)

E1 & Some Cougars Only
- Larger bracket to accomodate 278mm rotors (vs. 260mm non-svt)
- Same caliper and caliper spring as non-svt

I think I got everything. This should be helpful for those trying to figure out the differences. I've got the E0's on my Mystique and my SVT is an E1, so if anyone needs more info feel free to ask.

E0 pads cover more of the rotor surface between the caliper and the inside of the rotor, while the E1's are longer but not as wide. Both will stop your car identically and both have virtually the same contact surface.
