So I had my car to the shop yesterday, I needed two new tires, and I also new that my rotor's were getting bad and that my sway bar links were also on the way out. So I ended up getting all this done plus new brake pads.
Ended up costing me $560. Today I am experiencing a very load clunking sound on the right hand side when I make turns. I am guessing that it could be a ball joint? Or perhaps a control arm issue. I had the control arm on that side done about 12 months ago. ANy thoughts>?>

Just called them, they want me to bring it back tomorrow. He said he thinks its likely a strut or wheelbearing. Thing is it wasn't doing it before yesterday!!
Why would they not have noticed after repairing it?

Because they probably didn't test it....

If it wasn't doing it before they worked on it, they probably screwed something up.

Well they pissed around with it for 2 hours and found out that my back motor mount is broke off. THat is causing the annoying as hell clunking. He said that it is impossible to get at unless they cut a hole in my floor or take the motor out, likley a 1 hour job if they go through the floor, he thinks that Ford had a recall on this, anyone know if this is true?

Oh ya no charge for the trouble shoot which was nice

They shouldn't be charging you for ANYTHING man. If there was no problem before and now there is, clearly it's their fault...Have you brought your car here before? I highly recommend getting a dependable mechanic or finding someone on here that can do your fixes for you. I was cornered in and had to bring my car somewhere I didn't trust, and now my front suspension is messed up. I get a loud clunk from my left front whenever I brake hard. I went to bring it back a short while after and they gave me the attitude that they were going to charge me. I said eff that, and I'm going to have someone I TRUST look at it.

I'm not sure about the 4 cylinders but if you have the v6 I don't know why you'd have to cut into the floor to get the rear motor mount out. Unless the bolts are spinning in there. :help:

Ya the bolt is spinning, they can either pull the motor up to get at it, OR cut a hole in the floor to hold the nut in place. They tried with extensions and bends galour but could not get at it..
Does anyone know if there was a recall on this? He said he was sure there was on these cars and also the Taurus and Sable

Try bringing it somewhere else...Just because this shop doesn't have the tools to do it doesn't mean another shop won't. You never know what kind of tools these guys are packing...And FYI, if you have a bunch of old bolts lying around chances are you already have one that will do the job. During my water pump replacement, due to lack of room we (I use that term loosely, I wasn't the one fixing  ) removed the motor mount. Upon replacement, on of the bolts just COMPLETELY ripped straight through the mount. Complete strippage. The guy fixing my car had a pile of bolts and nuts and just found the right size and it was plug and play, so to speak... Good luck to you, though!
