Blasted Sunroof

It look like the same one as www.sunroofgears.com, and its the same price... I would just get it off sunroofgears!

thats the gear tho and i still didnt buy it...... 4 months now and i still try 2 open my sunroof and GRRRRrrrr.. LOL

Good Luck tell us how everything works out

My sunroof jammed open once - I took apart the transmission, found out how it ticks, tweaked the gears a little bit and have had flawless performance for months...

I've heard from several people that its easier to just buy a new sunroof motor than to swap the gear...

If this is not true I hope people chime in as the cost between the new gear and a new sunroof motor is huge.

I have 1 SVT with the same grinding issue as well... we just stopped attempting to open it :(

LOL - pull the cover - remove a few alan bolts and drop the motor. There are a few bolts on the transmission - comes apart very easily. I had mine out of the car, bench tested, and reisntalled in under 20 min without ever seeing one before...

sunroofgears.com and odometergears.com are both reputable companies, with many sold gears on here. Recently, one of the copmanies stopped making the gears, but the other is still going at it, and honors their lifetime warranty.

some have purchased replacement gears only to strip the replacement as well and then blame it on shoddy gears, however they DIDN'T align their tracks and basically shredded the gear on their own. If they had done it correctly, they would have had flawless operation as well.
