Chicago traffic Q

While traveling through Chi last Thurs. afternoon around 3:30- 4 pm we got held up taking the Skyway North. I think it added an hour to the trip. Are there times when it's better to take 294? I mean what's the point of spending $6 if it takes the same time to get up to Rockford, Madison, etc. Now coming back through headed S on Monday at 2:30 the traffic only added 15 minutes to the trip.

So my next question is when will Chi ever slow down construction. It seems like everything has been torn up since I was a little kid. Didn't have time to stop to hang.

Michigan construction isn't much better. Everywhere i go is like a motocross course with barrel outlines, i probably bottomed out my CSVT 4 time within the last day

I drive over there about once a week, and it's a crap shoot. Evenings during the week the skyway is the best, but any given time it's jammed like Lord Helmets radar.
My (air cooled) Harley was not happy with me. I think I had some detonation going cause I wasn't moving.
My sportbike ride was at least a little better, cause it's narrow enough to split lanes, and I was lucky enough not to see any 5-0's.
