That sub definately looks the part....

are you going sealed or ported....remember to break it in Lol1

The yellow is nice i likes. I was never fond of clarion but, that should put those kenwoods to shame ha.

Im not a fan of clarion neither... but i deal directly with the marketing director in toronto and he made me a sweet deal (around 75% off retails)

the two eXcelon are in bad shape... the tinsel burn on each.. i repaired it twice but they keep breaking each time im pushing them too much

As for the box im definitly going sealed... im not a SPL guy and i want something that hit hard n sweet

im testing it in a 0.8ft but i might try something a bit bigger to see how it sound... will post some picture when im done with my install

you properly flex it slowly, you dont jsut crnk it up as loud as it can go at first, i actually have a cd that does it very nicely, goes through all the tones, and flexes it

Sweet. Ya try a couple boxes out and see whats up. But, that sub surround is huge lol. nice one.

Ya I dunno, I heard brant new subs need a lil break in time before u thump it, I believe myself anyway. SOmethin, Im not talking go through a 40 htz bump for half an hour im just sayin keep the volume low haha.

A good deal is always nice :) !

I looked on the Clarion america site and it looks like we dont get that sub, do you have the one way xmax on it? Im curious about it it looks well made, the first long throw clarion sub I think I have ever seen.

i will try to check later on the clarion database for the full spec (i got a login)

but as i heard from the marketing director for clarion canada, its only available for canadian market !?

so for now im running it slowy since a few day in my old box which i suspect to be a bit too small, its not fully unleashed yet.

with the 800rms@2ohm amp i guess i should be able to have some pretty good quality output from what i heard so far. just need to build to perfect box, the right tuning n MORE dynamat

What are the specs on the amp, I saw that the sub was rated 1000W at 4ohms which can be broken down to 500w in 6ohms and 250W at 8ohms or they could have made the jump pass the 6ohm and will leave it at 500W at 8ohms.

I seen over the years how manufactures have been very liberal on how they been presenting the output numbers of their equipment. Having ppl thinking they are getting more power by using lower ohms ratio.

The sub is 4+4 so im driving it into 2ohm and the amp is pushing 800rms into 2ohm

and as for the box im in vacation since the past week in nova scotia so no time for the box yet... im still using my old sealed box...
