Not really a box, but I believe you are trying to refer to the starter.
 
Still been meaning to write that shifter replacement how-to, but I've been lazy like usual and never finished it....
 
Support trans with jack, pop shift cables off, remove air intake, undo 6 bolts for motor mount, unplug reverse switch, put counter weight in upright position, undo 6 bolts that hold tower to trans. Install is opposite of removal. There is your how -to. :troutslap:
 
its really easy to do. ive done it on a lot of my friends svt's. if you need help just ask. i met you up at rent-a-bay one time.

yeah.... er.... i didn't find mine after 3 hours of looking and probing with all sorts of magnets.... I think it's back in the diff from towing the car with a dolly..... I know.. don't preach to the choir about this.... What I need is to get a new job in my field of study and make some $$$$
 
well my father and i managed to get the shift tower out and drain the tranny too see if the bolt would some how be visable or even come out with the fluild but to no avail....bolt def snaped but snaped in 2 so there is only one piece stuck in the tranny since the other piece was stuck in the shift tower...anyone wanna pull the tranny out for me? lol
 
we tried the magnet idea....went out and bought a retractable magnet....flexible magnet and a 100 lb pull magnet and still cant find the m-fer.... drained the fluid and everything....who knows where inside it is... if anyone has any ideas on how to get it out WITHOUT taking the tranny out be my guest!
 
I know a few people around here who can pull it. All around $500's just to pull and reinstall

I've read of people spending more than two to three hours (edit: oops in this thread even!) poking around with a magnet. It has to come out or it will probably destroy your transaxle.

Been there... done that..... still in there....somewhere.... *knock on wood* Don't have the money to pull and reinstall it, College, rent, etc, etc.... Hoping I get a job in my field soon so I can make some money!
 
well lucky for me we managed to get the bolt out with the magnet idea.....i think the bolt was down by the diff and when we gave up on the magnet idea we pushed it into the garage to start pullin the motor out....said give it one more try and managed to get the magnet stuck lol.....so in an attempt to pull the magnet out the bolt came with the magnet!!! so lucky me got off easy...
