Valve cover Hose

Hey guys,


Mystique 1996, MTX Zetec, 200 000 KMs. I had some oil in the spark plug holes, a lot of oil and 2 pistons were doing nothing. The engine was really knocking with 2 pistons off position.

Anyways, I guess it is the Valve Cover Gasket. I will replace it tonight.

I took off the valve cover and the hose but where does that hose connect?

I cannot find the place for the other end of that hose.

I have an other question.

Because, two cylinders weren't working or one at least, Will the engine have a huge knocking noise ? I mean real big Knocking noise ?


I will change the plugs, wires and hope that fixes my noise!

Doubt it will cure the noise, are you sure its not typical injector or lifter tick? Or is it bottom end? If it's bottom end the damage has probably been done. No fix.

If it is the the bottom end like a spun bearing, how much does it cost for the rebuilding of the engine?

What are the options in a zetec mystique for engine replacement?

only options are the one that was in it, you can swap in a v6 but it'd end up costing 3-5 times more then the cars worth.

Drain the oil and look for metal shavings

Yes.

Change the oil and filter. Put everything back together and see if the sound goes away.
