So I had mentioned before on here that a buddy of mine just got a '96 GL (Canadian one...) last week. (not that you guys care/remember haha)

But I got a little more info on it. Apparently it was his grandparents' car and they gave it to his parents two years ago for when he turned 16 1/2 and got his license and whatnot...It had not been driven in two years. Not even started up. The car is in really nice shape except the front suspension seems a bit low.

This is where it gets interesting:

Just for haha's I wanted to see how many miles he had on it.

I nearly crapped my pants.

13,900 miles.

that is nice. :) very similar situation with my truck. 79 with 17,900 miles on it. But when vehicles sits, as I have found out, things don't always want to work LOL

I'm gonna see if he will let me drive it sometime soon. It's an ATX Zetec like mine, so I'd really like to see a better-condition engine really stretch its legs :) haha. Maybe it'll motivate me to really clean out my entire engine and components to get it running top-notch again :p.

The things I would do to have my SVT with 17,000 miles

Me too. :) I feel my 65k car has too many miles as is.

My friend got his grandma's 1990 ford tempo with 24,000 miles. Red on red. She just gave it to him for free, that lucky ******* . It sounds like a tank driving it around. The only thing bad is the outer tie rods and the tires. Still orginal tires.:blackeye:

Now he drives it as his daily driver.

i know a woman (banged her daughter) who heard about someone trying to get rid of an old car that was sitting in a barn.
she went to look at it and it was cunder a cover with tons of stuf piled on it.
all she did was lift the cover slightly and agreed to pay the $1500 for it.
"it" was an all original 1957 Chevy 4-door with just over 15,000 miles on it.
she changed the oil, flushed the gas tank and it fired right up and she drives it all the time now during the summer.
the only flaw is the worn out paint on the hood, roof, and deck lid.

i don't like her that much.

Yeah it is a 86 thunderbird turbo coupe fully loaded. he added the intercooler and a few other things to it but yeah ut has only 5,0xx miles on it . never been rained on. he has been trying to sell it for quite some time now but i think he is going to hold onto it for a while till the value goes up some more. i think he said he found on a few websites were it was valued around 9k but that was a year ago or so.

I have a friend whose sister went to live in NYC. She got a car for college graduation (2000 Elantra) and didn't take it with her. Suffice to say my friend now drives the car and it has something like <3K miles on it.
