Last weekend when Lira and I were comming home from my parents place in NH we were cruising along down the mass pike going a little faster than most of the traffic. Then we came up ona car that looked alot like a state police cruiser without a light bar and the "Police Interceptor" badge on the back and an alley light on the driver side and even a VHF radio antenna inm the middle of the trunk lid. So I slowed down becasue I didn't dare pass a cruiser. This clown would speed up to almost 80 for a mile or two and then slow down to 65 and then speed back up again.

I'm thinking to myself that this can't be a cop so I tried to speed up a little to at least try to get next to the guy and see if I could see if they were in uniform. Every time I tried they sped up. From the back it looked like there was lettering on the top of the trunk lid that said "POLICE" but I couldn't tell for sure. I thought I saw the yellow striping down the side of the car and I thought I saw where the lines broke at the front doors where it said POLICE. Finally we came up on a toll. He took one fast lane line, I took the other and got a look at the car.

It wasn't a cop. It was some goof ball in a former cop car like the one that Elky has. All that was done to the car was the area on the doors where it said "police in block letters between two of the pin striping lines was painted over the color of the rest of the body. But above the upper pin striping line there were still the tops of the letters P-O-L-I-C-E. One the back where I thought it said police the clown put some little plastic pieces on the top of the trunk lid so that reflected light from street lights or headlights would make it look like it said police. The kicker was that the guy was wearing a Red Sox hat and had a GPS and a SIRIUS on the dash.

I was so pissed that this nut was messing with me for the last 20 miles making me think that he was a cop so I wouldn't pass. I was mad but also laughing to myself becasue I could see myself doing the same thing just to mess with people.

I'm just curious if it is actually legal to have a car that so closely resembles a police car. But then again if that is the way that he got the car when he bought it then I suppose that it is legal.

I hate arsehats like that.
technically all he is supposed to do is take off anything that completes the word POLICE.
when i first bought mine, the guy i bought it from, took one letter off each word, legally i can drive like that.
but cops don't like it and it can still be considered impersonation.
i hope the fugger gets nailed for it.

there was a guy on RT 95 in an old cruiser that liked to fly right up on the arse of people in front of him and then tailgate them until they moved over.
Andy saw him doing this one day and returned the favor with his Police Tahoe, the kid slowed down pretty quick.

Friend of a friend used to take his P71 Crown Vic and park by the side of a highway, pointing a hairdryer at oncoming traffic. Not much else to do in northern Maine

Northern Maine? I can picture you trying to give a ticket to the Moose as it was trotting down the road. LOL. Just my wierd impression of northern Maine having only been as far north as Augusta.
