Oil Fill Cap Stripped....HELP!!!!

Went to drop a quart of oil in the old 98 Ford Contour SE V6 DOHC, 201200 miles, and my oil fill cap just turns but doesn't come off. I guess I tightend it too tight last time I changed the oil. How in the world am I going to get this off? I am not worried about finding a replacement, just getting the darn thing off....Please help!

How is tht even possible? I'm guessing the ratcheting mech. is broken. Should be able to break the plastic and unscrew the thread portion. Then hit a yard for a new cap.

I believe that is the problem. Any thoughts to breaking the cap? Hammer, prybar?

Rip the handle off the cap. It's useless now. That will leave the base of the cap still in the valve cover. Use pliers to unscrew the base from there.

I have a cap if you need one and don't have a junkyard to hit up.

PMs please. And yes, do get an OEM one. Sometimes the aftermarket ones do not seal well and you will get a CEL code.
