Engine Stalls - No Idle

I had a problem with the SVT this morning when I went to start it after having it sit for nearly 2 weeks.
It fired up and then stalled straight away. I got it going with the throttle and as long as my foot was on the gas it ran perfectly, even at idle rpms, take it off and it immediately stalled (as though I had turned off the key). I decided to drive it like this to work and see if it cleared up after running for a while and it now idles again perfectly. Does this sound like the IAC? If so I was wondering whether to replace it now as a preventative measure or just forget about it? Thoughts?

I had a problem like this in my SE. I sprayed some carb cleaner in the intake. I believe the choke was sticking. I hadn't had the problem since.

Knock on wood

Thanks guys. I will check the hose in the morning. And sorry Ray, I searched and didn't come across that other thread. I search for IAC and it said there were too many results so I searched for idle and didn't find what I was looking for.

That is the classic symptom of a sticking IAC valve. Try cleaning it. Sometimes they need replacement.

Technicians routinely replace the IAC valve for cars towed in that won't idle unless the throttle is held slightly open. That's part of the diagnosis.

Thanks Big Jim. I was thinking it might be a sign of something like that. I have had some minor fast idle issues for a while so I guess its time to take care of it.
