Snow Tire Question

So I know it is competely out of season for snow tires but I was just wondering I have a 99 SVT and I used chains on my 205/55/16 tires and I think the chians scraped the lower strut bracket where there is now small rust spots from the paint being scraped off. I was thinking for next winter season i would invest in a set of winter tires which were large enough so I could use the chains I have already purchased, but also small enough that I will have no issues using chains. So my question is what size wheels and snow tires should I look into for next winter?

i know they are not "snow tires" but i have heard very positive results from the goodyear assurance tripletred. out here we have what is called the gorge and it gets snowy and icy. the customers i have sold them to swear by them saying they stick like glue even when icy. and you can run them year round. i checked tire rack and they are available in that size.

I have used Dunlop Winter Sport M3, Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice and Bridgstone Blizzak LM25.

The Bridgestones were by far the best for wet, snowy and icy roads. the Dunlops were more performance oriented and the Goodyears handle ice very well.

I don't know where you're driving that you need chains, out west I assume, but I'm in south east Michigan. The snow is never really deep here, but it's often wet or icy.

Get some 16' steelies and run a 205/50-16
