99 SVT transmission gears not engaging

I have a 99 SVT and about two weeks ago, the transmission will not engage any gear. The shifter feels good like it is going in all gears, I hear a grinding noise in all gears and it moves slightly in reverse only but 'pops' out under slight load. The speedometer does show accleration although the car does not move. I'm thinking it's a differential. Has anyone experienced this? Thanks

Could be that or a broken halfshaft. The shaft is easier and cheaper to fix. Some CEG'ers have experienced that problem from either cause, maybe someone will chime in.

I took the tranny out today and found the problem, it was the spider gears in the diff - completely wore down to the nub. Probably will go with a Torsen or try to locate a set of new gears

The good thing is the diff did not explode and wreck the trans case. I saw a picture of worn spider gears on the old forums.
