Dear...

Tim....come on:shrug:

Considering the loss of Mathieu Schnieder and Kronwell I thought he did pretty well, those were HUGE losses. I'm pissed about them losing but damn was end of the game exciting!

Oh come on. Stop looking at the few good saves he's had and look at the COUNTLESS goals he's allowed in because HE was out of position. Sure Shneider was a huge loss, but Anaheim also lost Kunitz (who I played with at Ferris).

Detroit doesn't need a big name goalie, they need someone who will work well with the team. Hasek sprawling and his new favorite "stacking the pads" worked only until the other teams realized that there is another 2 feet of open net above his 42 yr old a$$.

Just look how well the Wings play in front of Osgood, a butterfly goalie. No matter where he is down at, the first thing he does is get back to his skates and gets ready for the next shot. Hasek would just lay there flaying about.

Wings managment either 1) has to put Osgood in (who's already one 2 cups, one with Vernon and one by himself) or 2) get a goalie that would work well with Detroit style of play (i.e. old school Potvin, Brodeur etc...)

-Tim

Having Brodeur would be amazing.. He's never going to leave New Jersey though-

I think the post should be,

Dear Red Wings-- Don't choke in game five while losing a 1-0 lead in the last minute and then losing it in overtime on a stupid ass turnover in front of the net. . .

I have not missed one Red Wings game all year and I have to admit, after game 5, I stated that I was not even going to watch game 6 because I was so disguisted with the way that they were playing..

Ya, I'm real happy they finally decided to play Detroit Hockey for the last 10 min. of the season. About 1 week to late I think.

Wheres the leadership?

-Tim

p.s. On hustle alone, I think Draper was the Wing's MVP.

I would agree-- I think Filpulla earned a lot of ice time for next year, and given a few years will be a great asset to the team...

I'm also all for cutting Bob Lang and Samuelsson as soon as possible... Neither of them should be on ANY power play because Samuelsson just sits at the point and wants every single shot and only decides to shoot it when the chances of it being blocked are nearing 100%... And Bob Lang lost his heart... Learn how to move your feet, then maybe you can come back to my team.. loser

Bertuzzi did not impress me. Maybe he got thrown in to late in the season, but his mind just didn't seem in it. I think it may be the lack of team cohesion (sp?) between him and the other 'leaders' of the team.

You have to want the cup for your teammate before yourself. I think next year after he gets 15-20 good games in, he'll start to meld better with guys as a team.

Osgood should start next year, and get that new guy from the Griffens (or Mcdonald) to back him up.

He didn't get enough games in before the playoffs started, but he likes the city of Detroit and as far as I can tell, we enjoy him, I know I do.. Once he plays a regular season with us, even more people will realize why he is such an asset to a team...

And McDonald doesn't play with us anymore, nor is he in GR.. He plays for Boston now

Cleary was MVP this year to me.

Hasek needs to go he retired 4 years ago. Why did he come back?

He said his back is still not healed yet. That is why when he played he just kinda skated around. Oh well hopefully next year he will be ready.

Always been an osgood fan, only jersey I own.

Osgood is a hit or miss kinda guy. You never know how he will play.

He'll do just fine-- The Wings are an older team.. If anyone has followed Bertuzzi in there own lifetime they will realize that he is more than just a bruiser.. He has an amazing sense of the ice and can create scoring situations of his own.. He netted three against the Wings a year ago and when he plays a full season with us I guarentee he will score those for us too.. A great hockey player all around, and he will tussle, which the Wings desperately need..

Next year, we will be in full contention for the cup

I agree, he is a great player/ except that he crippled a man for life:blackeye: . Which is why i'm not a big fan of his past.

But if his back is still bad next year, he's gonna be useless. Like i said, i hope next year he will be ready.

His past isn't my concern.. I liked him then and I like him now.. No justification on his actions at all (Hockey is a 'respect your team sport' but, he DID take it farrrr too far), I was obviously not a fan of what he did but in all hockey sense he is a well rounded athlete and can provide all a team will need, especially the Wings.

I guess the reason I forget about it is because of the way he carried/carries himself with exception to that one incident. If you see him in interviews or in any other situation he is a rather timid/shy kind of guy. Everyone has had a tmie in their life where they lashed out and did something irrational, at least I believe so..

I see what your saying. And i agree.

I think Chris chelios said it best 1 week ago. "The old days, tough guys fought tough guys and you left the smaller guys alone. Now a days everyone targets everyone. There just out to hurt other people. That old hockey style is over. These new kids are all about punishment".

I 100% agree with that. I guess look at old days with Probert, he was a tough guy. A real bad a$$ if you ask me. He fought who ever wanted to fight him. He was never known for beating up soft/weak players.

Brattina- not to go off topic but did you find that spray paint?
