I've read the other posts, but I want to put the tap in the block rather than the oil pan. Given that eveything is out of the car, it makes sense to do it right.

So making sure I do this in the EXACT RIGHT LOCATION, attached is a pic of the front header side of the engine. Can someone who knows (Stazi?) take this pic into Windows Paint, and put a red dot where the tap should be.

Please and Thank you.

In between the third and fourth bolt (looking from left to right) in the checker board section. If you look you will see a large galley that goes right into the pan.

This guys helpless. Never searches when he comes on here. Usualy a topic just covered ad nausem. Doesn't even look at the posts in his own thread that picture cleary the hole in question.

I'm sorry... looking at the picture has a big 1 and 2 circled in red on the PAN... NOT ON THE BLOCK!!!

oh and I did search, hence why I insited on my first post to see where it is on the BLOCK NOT THE PAN!!!

hmm... lets see i've been a member of CEG longer than you have, and a moderator for NECO since it started, heck I used to even admin NECO when my job wasn't so demanding.... I have done the first 3L swap in a cougar, have helped countless others, especially in the suspension and 3L areas... yeah i'm useless alright...

go back and try to flame a real troll, oh wait, maybe you are one of the real trolls, because until I made this thread, this entire board did not have a single CLEAR picture of where to tap the block for the drain back... maybe this thread should be made a sticky so that people don't ask the question again...

Sorry the numbers confuse you. It was pretty obvious. Checkered board - hole

So your maybe a member longer probaly by a couple months. So what. Since you don't post here, thats moot. Who cares about NECO this is CEG. Obviously the more informative site. Thats why your hear. I think I remeber seeing your first 3l Cougar at a SZ once. I wouldn't really be bragging about it :blackeye: .

The posted picture was from a prior post... so this has been discussed already. Look at the pic again and ignore the red numbers.

i don't post much here, because of *******s like you... find more info on NECO when dealing with suspension and general 3L stuff, since the turbo is being developed by Nautilus, and has only been installed on contours so far, I decided to post this question here....

Glad things changed there then. When I had a Cougar.... all the discussions on NECO were about aesthetics and stereos. There were hardly any performance related threads.

Actually there have been MANY pictures posted over the years of the correct sites to tap the pan and the block. The old forums are a wealth of information too....

And to everyone else:
This argument is a moot point so why don't you all just settle down with the Troll labeling stuff. If something isn't clear to someone then they are entitled to ask.
