When I shift my car at redlined hard during the 1-2 shift at redline, it seems like the throw is shorter than if I shift regularly at a moderate rpm, trans was just rebuilt and it has the torsion lsd installed and new clutch. Is this normal or is it from the engines and trans moving too much under load?

I hope your not redlining with a new clutch - I've got a similar issue but in the other direction - when I redline shift from 1-2 I can't get the shifter to go into gear, like the cable is too short. I think it has to do with the transmission flexing and therfor making the cables longer or shorter in the process.

Yeah

Yeah

Mine kinda does the same thing... Only when im redlined from second into third its a short shift.(For some reason lately its squaking when i let the clutch out). It does do the same thing goin from second to first. Usually it grinds before i let the clutch out anyways.:blackeye:

...I note the comments re redline shifts etc.Well we all know this will shorten the life of blockers and syncros, very much so on 1st & 2nd gears as the size and 'mass' of the gear(s) is very large. On redline shifts...why?..The engine is not even close to it's max HP/Torque point so why go past it?...Need to study your dyno plots before you establish 'shift points'...BTW,keep redlining those MTX's....I have lots of parts for repair!!TH

so that when you shift to the next gear the rpms fall back into the powerband and not below it

When racing the idea is to shift so that you have equal amounts on each side of the power peak. One of the advantages of having a trans with more gears is that you have less drop when shifting so you stay closer to the power peak.

Redline shifting itself is a bit rougher on the trans, but the real wear is power speed shifting at redline.
