When pilling off t low RMP I hear a little rattlng sound, I can hear it pretty much anytime I at low rpms, sounds like somethings in the exhaust? My uncles ranger did this too?

And when Im crusin at Highway speeds 45-to whatever, if I take my foot off the gas it feels like the tranny or engine moves. If i patt the gas it jakes it up and down, not real harsh but its hard enough. I saw a post like this and they say its a misfire, supposedly the plugs and wires are new?

Also Sometimes the car wont go into 1st or 2nd gear like its just locked out. Search yeilded changethe fluid, is that all?

sometimes i've noticed if your MPH is above 50 MPH the tranny wont let you go into lower gears. I dont know if it's normal or not but my car does that also. The engine jumping is just a tranny or motor mount.

So were talkin engin mounts, or tranny mounts? Whats the labor like on that

There are four engine/tranny mounts/ roll resistors in the engine bay. I bought them all -- seems to me the cost of the four was around $300, excluding labor -- but I'm very thorough. You may be able to get away with skipping some. For example, some say that the upper passenger's motor mount (the huge one that the spark plug wires run over) rarely fails. Of course, its also discontinued through Ford, so that might build an argument to snag one. There are still quite a few in dealer stock.

Regardless -- you've got two large mounts and two smaller ones. The front one takes the most stress, and is probably the cause of most of your slop when you load and unload the engine.

If you really want to cover all your bases, you've also got an engine dampener, or Stab-o-shoc, in there, too. This doesn't do nearly as much as the mounts, but does help to reduce snap in the mounts. There is one factory unit left in the nation at Fuller Ford in Chula Vista, CA. Last I knew, they were not budging on price (which is foolish, as the part is just taking up spake in inventory) and wanted $67. That's the ranch, so try to avoid paying that. Low forties is a fair price. Also, I think Bradness makes one.
