anyone willing to come check out my car would be much appreaciated, theres a rubbing/grinding noise coming from the front right wheel well, it's not my brakes, i dont think its a wheel bearing ethier but i could be wrong it's not howling and it sounds like it only makes it at only 1 point in the rotation of the tire (not constant) if anyone is willing or intrested let me know, thanks.
oh it's a 1999 contour svt

sounds like a wheel bearing, hub, or axle. thats if its not the brakes like u said. you should just be able to look under the car and see if any axle boots are ripped, if not that then just bring it in. any shop should be able to tell you if you cant find anyone else.

ouch....good luck. might want to try other places before that or your gonna pay a pretty penny at Ford.

Well had I seen this in time I would have been willing to come over. Although judging by the date of your posts you've already dropped the $44 for the Ford inspection fee.

nah i went there and saw how much it was just to look at and drove off, i was looking at it again on the lift and the only thing i noticed was the ball joint was bad so im changing that and hopefully the noise will go away.

Which side is it? You know you can get a whole new control arm from Ford for right around $70, which would include new bushings. Otherwise you have to drill out the old ball joint and replace it, which will cost right around $30... so I think the choice is clear.

The only thing is if you have to replace the drivers side you have to lower the subframe on that side to remove the bolts holding the control arm in place. Not to big of a deal, but more work then the passenger side. I have the tools to do it. Let me know if you need help.

k well the problem went away after replacing the lower control arm bushings and ball joint....than it just came back today but only when the clutch is engaged....if i let of the clutch it stops...weird eh? im asuming it would be an easy fix...lose bolt or something...but i dont know where to start. everythings real tight and i push up and down and hear nothing....any help would be nice. -
