Footwell Lights

Tour folks I have a problem. I just finished a interior swap I took everything out of a 1995 SE (to include interior wiring harness and Dash) and put it into my 95 GL everything went well all the power items work the only problem I have is the lights in my footwell will not go out. I don't think it is the timer I swapped out the fuse boxes I had the same problem with both. I also tried to unplug the lightbulbs and that drained my battery. Once my battery was drained I did jump start the car then it went dead again The only way I stop the lights is by pulling fuse #34. I just put my battery back in I had it on a charger. I checked all the grounds wires. I went to the yard and purchased door switches. Installed them problem still there. Bell chimes when the key is in the ignition. I also did a little work around the steering wheel when I did the swap and it is not the dimmer switch 95’s did not have the option. I don't have any problems with the dome light I just work it manually. Let me know what you think Thanks in Advance

i don't know about pre98's but there is a dimmer switch. it looks like an Oreo. if that switch is on than thats your prob. i kept doing that when i first got my car. so check your dimmer switch!!!!. i bet thats it. on post 98's its on the right side of the steering wheel. look around for it.

the pre 98 has the same dimmer switch in the same location but it doens't allow you to turn on the interior lights like the post 98 dimmer ...

well crap. my next guess would be an open circuit for the door switch's:shrug:

Courtesy lights, Power Mirrors, and the Radio....
Think this may be for a 99, but should be pretty similar... If the don't match up, I can look up the 95 and double check, but right now I gotta go to work...
