already searched, and looked at the how-to. looks impossible to complete the rear header with the intermediate shaft in. has anyone done it? i cant figure out how i would be able to get it out even if i could get at all the bolts, this sucks. :(

i have them. i cant get the top nuts off with them though, even though i can get the wrench on them, i cant pull it hard enough to crack them free. i wanted to use the extensions and swivel deal on the 3/8" ratchet, but i broke the damn thing so i have to go get a new joint deal tomorrow. hopefully i can get it. i did end up taking out the shaft, and the intermediate shaft bearing's housing. wish me luck tomorrow i guess :(

Long extension with a swivel, and go behind the subframe.

Its been said many times.

Good luck

The top nuts are pretty much a straight shot if you go above the subframe (between it and the floor pan. Just get a bunch of extensions and use u-joints where needed. Except for moving the alternator, I thought the rear was alot easier than the front.

You do NOT need to move the alternator to do headers. believe me i've done it on 2 cars.

Like harrry said just get some extensions and u joint and go over the subframe. remember you need to take the studs out as well to get the header off.

I found the alternator easy enough to at least get to the side for some extra room...but whatever other like to do is up to them.

I want to say I used two joints and 3 med lenght 3/8 extensions. Air tools are nice to at least break these loose if you can make sure your socket is seated completely and hopefully get a hand up there to keep it that way.

I alos did not remove the intermediate shaft.

Still goes down as one of the hardest/time consuming/knuckle busting jobs ive done on this car. And let me tell you ADC's header design is terrible to work with when the motor is in the car IMHO.

If you arent already planning to, I found allen screws to be much easier to work with when I reinstalled vs reusing the headstud/bolt setup. Way nicer to be using short allen wrenches up in there vs sockets and box wrenches. Box of 25 was only a few bucks at McMaster-Carr. PM Stazi for the exact size, I cant remember for the life of me.
