Well I figure until I get my SVT, I'd post a few pics of my other rides.

First off is my current daily beater...shown in track form here...

It's a 92 Thunderbird SC 5-speed. In 92 there were 1256 5-speed's made so it's fairly rare. Not to mention it's Moonlight Blue with grey leather/tweed split interior...so I'm sure there's only a handful with that combo. It's basically stock, just has a 5% overdrive pulley and a full exhaust. Still likes to push 12 psi on the stock engine with 178k miles. That day at the track, with just the pulley, it went 15.03@93mph. Not bad for a 4000 land yacht.

I had the option of getting a 1990 Cougar XR7 with a 5 speed. with 60K miles. But it had been stored for about 3 years and never ran. I knew if I bought it I would have to replace anything rubber on it, which would have been a stress case. So I just decided against it.

The other car is my toy...95 Thunderbird LX (notice a pattern, lol?)...this is when I brought it home...

In it's current visual form...

And the engine that was just pulled...

The engine was a built 4.6 SOHC with basic "NPI" top end components and the Vortech S-trim. I figure the power was around 270 rwhp. I pulled it and sold it to move on to bigger and better things. As for the paint, this is a cheap photoshop of what is planned...black and sonic blue with the silver pin-stripe...

Nice 'birds. My g/f has a '92 5.0 (I'm sure you've seen her around the T-Bird forums, but she's on here as well) Keep up the good work and hope you plan to spruce up the SC after your build on the other one!

Actually the SC is gonna be for sale either when I get the 95 back and running, or when I get the CSVT. Kinda hard to afford 3 cars when you're 23 and in college. I've got a couple friends with some sweet SC's...I'll leave the SC thing to them...get's a little pricey.

Man just spent the weekend putting an oil pan and doing a tune up and a 89 S/C. What a pain that was. Got it running though, first time in six years.Next project, head gaskets:blackeye: . S/C's are pretty cool rides.

If my g/f wasn't modding the daylights out of her 'bird next year I would pick that up for her! I wouldn't mind it either, but I've got enough of a project on my hands with the Mustang. I don't need another right now! LOL. The only way I can pull off having 3 cars and being 23 is that I'm not in College right now  I plan on finishing up my Marketing degree soon, but I am lucky to have a great paying job without a degree. Keep up the good work, the 95 looks great

Nice...just about how I want it to look. Headlight covers are gone now...I'm gonna try to tint my headlights from the inside like the 03/04 Cobras are.

any pics of the s/c's motor? and what are its numbers?

The engine itself looks stock. Stock 3.8L pushrod engine with the Eaton M90 supercharger and intercooler. With of course the exception of the OD pulley. Stock numbers range around 220 rwhp and 310 lb/ft.

Best pic I can find of it...this was when I got it...

I can imagine the oil pan project. Did you drop the K member or pull the engine up?

Headgaskets are a piece of cake. Just take your time and remember how it all goes together and you'll be fine. I found the hardest part of doing the headgaskets was getting the intercooler tubes lined back up, lol. I would put money on the fact that it's the #3 cylinder, back passenger side...blown at the coolant passage on the top left corner of the cylinder.

Why don't you trade me that Mustang for my SC? Haha, wishful thinking. Me and my dad have been looking for a project to fix up. Something like a 67-69 Mustang, or a late 60's Chevelle, Nova, or those hard to find Camaro's, lol.

The alternators on both cars is a piece of cake. Take the belt off, 3 bolts, then they're out. Water pump is almost as easy.

LOL! I don't want an SC that bad! My g/f and I have loved Mustangs since we were little and I wanted this Mustang in particular since I was in hs. It used to be my Uncle's and he was just going to junk it and all the parts he had accumulated over the years last september! I got the Mustang (a 4spd 289) and all the parts (a ton from a 67 Auto parts car that he had including a spare 289, a spare 351W and other misc. parts that he had from a 70 something Galaxie, and other misc parts from a 69 Mustang and a 70 something Ford LTD) for a power garage door opener so it's easier for him to get his '76 Cougar in and out of the garage. It amounted to about $200 total for the car. The unfortunate part is that the Mustang is in rough shape from Wisconsin winters and sitting in the garage for 20 years :blackeye: I'm not 100% sure if my dad and I will restore it yet, although I really want to. I'm considering modding it to handle and then having my dad take the Mustang along to road course events with me. We'll see. Anyways, long story short, I would love to have an SC, but not as bad as a Mustang

We dropped the subframe. Made everything easier. Its actualy appears to be cylinder one. When we pulled the pan some coolant was in the oil, cylinder one had rust at the bottom. Ya 3.8 head gaskets are fairly easy. I did several back in my dealer days. Never did a s/c though. Shouldn't be to bad.

Hmm, hard to say til you get the head off. I've done or helped out with about 4 or 5 HG jobs, and they've all been #3. I suppose #1 would be the same deal. The HG problems were mainly caused by the bad design of positioning the bolts. When I did mine, a friend of mine, his dad worked with Fel-pro and designed a set of the MLS gaskets for the SC specifically, and guarenteed them to hold anything. There were only 2 sets made and I picked them up for $50 from my friend. A year and a half later no problems. A friend of mine has the other set on his 94. He's pushing 15+ psi and spraying it with a 75 shot, running 12.4's with it, no problems out of it either. The rule seems to be for the head gasket repairs....Fel-pro gaskets and ARP studs FTW.
