Look what i got from the hobby store

Don't know much about this topic. However, I was wondering. In the pic of the back of the car there is a bubble at the trunk line of the bumper. Is that something that can be fixed? Or just something that can't be avoided during the molding process? By the way, it looks great!

HAHAHA...I've been a Tamiya guy forever. I still have a TA-01 (in pieces), TA-02, TA-03F and RS (TCS legal), the 05 (also TCS legal), and the evo IV with a Kai chassis. When I was a kid, my father got me a Sand Scorcher, my brother had the buggy one (Rough Rider I think), and my pops got himself a Super Champ.

Besides the touring cars, I also have a Losi BK2, and a Kyosho SP2 1/8th scale buggy. I've been considering getting into gas sedans with a Mugen MTX-4...
Nice! I've got 2 or 3 TA-02's, plus a front motor/FWD FF02, a DF01 Dirt Thrasher, F103GT, and the TA01/02 Hummer. I also have a Kyosho Hanging-On-Racer Suzuki motorcycle, several Associated TC4's; including a Factory Team TC4 that I race regularly, an HPI Wheely King (which is the coolest RC every built!), and a Duratrax Evader ST Pro. I also have a couple Kyosho Mini Z's; which are what got me into racing in the first place.

Hey MLuko - I've got a Traxxas Bullet buggy that I used to race in a vintage class. Do you need another Traxxas? ;)

Deweydw - hmmm... Looking at that, it looks like it was painted on the outside.

So, why would it bubble by painting the outside? Seems like a fun hobby. Just trying to learn new things. My hobby right now are my fish. What I'd like to get into is model trains. Never had a place to set one up though. Sometimes go down to the hobby shop and dream.

It looks like a paint bubble on the outside, which is what's confusing me. Trains are neat; I used to have a pretty good sized HO set-up; but I couldn't make 'em go fast and crash into stuff without it costing a lot of money. :D

should have painted it on the inside instead of the outside as far as the bubble did you pull off the protective film (if it has it on it ) and did you wash the body with mild soap and warm water? all and all not a bad paint job.

I scuffed it down. cleaned it with mineral spirit wipe.. applied plastic adhesion promoter.. then my color.. that bubble is from too much paint ( my fault)

i have a tb evo 3 a tl01 associated rc10 b4 and rc10 gt. i blew thousands in that hobby. i mean a ton i really want to get a contour body. im selling all my stuff if anyone wants it couple bodies two in awsome shape. the tl01 is beat but a good beginner and cheap. the b4 was hardly ever used. got out becuase i got a dirtbike and now a car. just pm

as long as you dont run that body the paint wont come off still would nave looked better (more of a deep gloss finish ) if you painted it from the inside. but hey you have a contour body and most we all can hope for is finding a hpi mondeo body.

I was thinking the bubbles were from not removing the clear protective cover that you're supposed to remove after painting the inside and trimming it all out.

This is actually my first RC body that I've ever painted myself.. Im still working on getting some more of these in hopes to start a GB.. and it didnt come with any decals... sucks i know..
