Aftermarket Exhaust

i was told that now that most states require cadailac converters that the headers pretty much dont do anything for you because the converters are taking that away. is that true. because im planning on putting true duals on and i would like to put headers on to but if they wont help much i wont bother.

Joe, I was looking through the header installation guide and I'm sure we can install headers on our cars in under 5 hrs being the exhaust was already off the car to do the motor swaps. We can easily get this done in my garage, but a hoist would be best.

Yes, it's true Catalytic Converters are required.
No, it's not true that headers don't give you some good power.
Why are you putting on true duals?

I personally think it does. Plus, theres less bends in the system compared to a quasi dual system.

Yea but if you have a mildly modded 2.5, you really don't need it opened up that much. But to each their own.

Also, make sure to use the correct size piping on the duals. You don't want to be running some 2.5" or 3" pipe with duals...wil sound like ass.

True duals on a V6 isn't for everyone... it's got a wierd sound, especially if you're used to hearing V8s with duals.

It's kind of weird like a Subaru (or any other 4 cylinder with a dual exhaust manifold... like my old 90 Accord EX) with duals... sounds like a motorcycle (duals on a V6 doesn't sound like this, but I'm just using it as an example of a weird sounding dual exhaust)
