ok to start off please no flaming i have tried to search the best i can but came up a little short...first off i am doing a 3l one way or another but i just need some things cleared up.....a full oval port is using a 3l everything right? the upper lower heads block everything right? and a 3l oval port match is using a 3l block with 3l heads (porting them to match the svt upper and lower) correct? so i guess another question is if i were to do a straight 3l full oval port.....that is pretty much just a drop in right.....now i think there is somthing to be done with the fuel rail and such.....but what all is need for this i have searched the old forums and these new ones but again have came up short.....i just want the car back on the road and i have been talking to stazi on this and i think i have been getting him a little confused on my talk. so if you could answer me some ?'s thanks alot guys

how to remove the imrc (what does that stand for btw)
at the dyno shop is that something they could do in the tuning or what
i have a 98 svt soon to be a escape full 3l swap

IRMC = Intake Manifold Runner Control. It is a box with a cable off from it that controls the opening of the intake manifold secondaries.

It can be removed by unbolting it, but doing so confuses the computer, thus the need to get a tune to compensate for it.

do all dyno shops know what there doing?
if i said hey tune my 98 svt with a full 3l they could do it any shop with a dyno?

No. I learned the hard way when I went to pick up my car at Dyno Daves in MI. Took it for a test drive and it was bucking really hard when the secondaries opened. Drove it back 5 mins later and they had closed up the shop and went home. Turned out the timing was all messed up. Surprisingly, Jerry, the creater of the SCT software, is the guy that tuned it for me, but he wasnt there that day. Even the gurus make mistakes. Luckily, I got in contact with Jerry and he was happy enough to fix it for me within a few mins. He looked at the tune on his laptop and was like, "Wow, I f*cked up on that." :D

And just because they have the SCT software, doesnt mean they know how to tune it...especially if you have something like a 3.0L with removed secondaries and the timing needs to be compensated.
