I'd like to interchange the lower dash trims from my 96 Contour and my 98 Mystique. They seem to be the same but I'm not sure. Does anyone know if they can be interchanged?

Contour-Mystique dash...Are they the same?

1995-2000 contour and 1998-2000 mystique dashes are the same.
1995-1997 mystique dashes are different.

1999-2000 Contour - warping
1995-1998.5 Mystique - non warping
1999-2000 Mystique - warping (same as Contour dash)
The only dashes that are shared between both cars is 1999-2000 model years. All other years are not the same. Shaped totally different.

That's part of the info I gave. The 1999-2000 Mystique dash is nothing like 1995-1998.5.

He's not talking about the pre-98 Mystique dash being the same as the post 98 Mysique dash. He wants to know if the pre-98 Contour dash is the same as the post 98 Mystique dash. Go back and carefully read the original post. The answer is yes.

Well, after thoroughly checking out both of the dash trims I don't think they can be interchanged. So I will just have to find a flat black paint to cover up that nasty wood-like trim in my Mystique. After a clear coat, it should match in with the rest of the trim fairly well. And if not, I'll just have to paint the rest.
