So anyways...I'm stuck in Whitewater. My car got stuck on the side of the road after being parked, I got a tow truck to get me out. I managed to make it to the campus parking lot and half way park. Anyways, as I tried to park I got stuck and tried to roll it back and forth and nothing worked. I let the car sit running for about 10 minutes and my ABS Light and E-Brake light came on, and i reved the engine in nuetral and my rpm's didnt move. Then my radio went out, and I shut the car down. I attempted to restart it but it wouldnt even crank over. The bad part is I'm about 55 miles away from home, and I need to get home asap. I have no tools with me either. Tomorrow I am calling up a friend to come help me out. But I would like to know if anyone has any ideas as to what it could be. I need your help asap. I am already going to miss a day of work because of this. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like your alternator failed leaving you with a dead battery.

When this happened to my wife a couple of summer's ago, I jumped the battery from my running F150, ran it for 20 minutes at around 2000 RPMs to put some charge into the battery, then drove it about 15 miles before repeating. Took three "hops" to get the car home. If you have a fully charged battery available, your range should be around 35-60 miles before fully discharging the battery.

When driving with no alternator, turn off EVERY electrical load possible to minimize current draw and maximize the usage of power needed for the fuel pump and the engine's electrical system.

FWIW, the charge indicator in the instrument cluster never came on as a warning on our car.....
