How ... The ..... $&@# ???

As a possible future transplant to an area where it snows alot, I am wondering how the snowplow crews can make everyone happy? If everyone wants the streets clear, what alternative is there to having the plowed snow pile up at the side of the road? The plow guy can't plow that snow onto everyone's parking strip as there could be cars parked on the street. Or is there no parking on streets in your area? And even if that was possible, would they then be required to plow everyone's driveway afterwards so you could enter the newly plowed street? I guess I don't understand how the street department can win if no matter what they do, people get mad at them. Now driving through your front yard is another matter. That was dumb.

Basically, you're correct in that they can't please everyone. I live in a neighborhood, where there isn't any street parking. I was just irritated that I had to hurry up and change, and be out the door, and I get plowed in, in that short amount of time. So I had to go back out there and shovel a path, which takes a good 15 minutes when they bank the snow high enough. If you move to an area where there is city parking, you'll just have to see how they handle it in your area. Some plow trucks will plow your car in. Some will have a designated time where cars must be moved, in order to plow.
