My daughter drives the tour. So while I'm on vacation I have been starting it up before she leaves to warm it up. This morning, I let it run for apx. 15 min.. I went out to check on it and the cabin was still cold. The engine was warmed up but not blowing any heat. So revved it up to about 2k rpm and heat started blowing. I let off the gas and it went back to cold. Revved again and heat came out. Let off, cold air. Any idea's? Thanks...

my guess is the waterpump is going bad ... the impeller is slipping on the shaft and the higher rpm makes it turn ...

El coche es deis anos de viejo ;) . Este las cosas suceden.
The car was ten years of old. ;) This things happen.

At ten years old, it would be considered routine maintenance. Maybe the tensioner or belt was not installed properly.

That's a good point about the belt. About a month ago when I had the tranny worked on, they replaced the belt. But I should know something today. Asked about the impeller and he said all aftermarkets should be metal not plastic.

Apparently it's worse. The dealership says it's a blown head gasket. They would rather put in a new motor than replace the gasket. To replace the gasket, looking at about $2,500. And they would have to warranty it. For a new motor $4,900. Not sure what to do. I think I'll take it to someone else to get it done.
