OEM alternators, but where?

I've read countless posts suggesting members to go for new Motorcraft alternators. However, I ask, where do you find these? I've called at least 6 dealerships today and none have any that are new; all are remaned.

So for those of you who have been successful w/the Motorcraft alternators, are these remaned as new, or are they indeed brand new purchased from the dealership?

I plan on contacting Bill, but was wondering what the consensus was on this.

When I had the dealer replace my alternator a couple of months ago, I asked if there were any options, such as "good", "better", or "best". He said Ford had just one option; a remanufactured unit where supposedly everything but the housing was new. It has a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty. As I recall, it was about $250 plus another $250 for labor to install.
