I could use a little constructive criticism from those of you who are more experienced photographers. This was a fairly quick snap from my trip to AR. Any opinions/advice are appreciated. Thanks.

Oh, and BTW I know that the date stamp should be taken off so please don't dwell on that part.

Are you shooting in "auto" mode? You might play around in manual mode if you haven't already. Adjusting light aperature and shutter speed can make a difference in the lighting. I'm no pro, just taking a photography course right now that's taught me a little bit about different modes the camera has to offer.

Im no professional, but the last round of pictures that I took of my car turned out really well and I think most of CEG agrees. First of all, a tripod or something to mount the camera on makes a huge difference. Its amazing how much clearer a picture comes out. Secondly, I think pictures at near dusk turn out great. (Youll definetely need a tripod for this) Too much sunlight can really darken other parts of the car while over brighten others. The front of your car turned out great, but the rear of the car is too dark and blemishes detail. Me personally, I try to avoid busy backgrounds, sorta like the one you have there. You have the house, the trees, the car. Make the car the center of attention. I think if you took a more upclose picture of your car and cut out some of the background it would turn out a lot better. Lastly, I think different camera angles make pictures better than the traditional "capturing all of the car with holding the camera exactly upright." Take a look at the link in my signiture. Theres some pics from my last photoshoot of my car in there.

Yeah, this was 100% auto. If I need to just start experimenting with manual and learn by trial and error I can live with that. However, if there is anything that some of the more trained eyes can catch and are willing to point out that would be great also.

I think your off to a great start

You picked a cool location (barns always make awesome backdrops) and your framing is good (rule of thirds).

Next time, take the stuff of of your rear view mirror, it makes for a cleaner SVT! Also, the tree growing out of your roof is a little strange haha. Sometimes this cant be avoided, but its something to keep in mind. Another tiny detail that id point out is that cars usually don't drive on grass. If possible, get the car on a road, or a patch of hard surface. Usually this is a personal preference and ill leave it at that.

What kind of camera are you using by the way?

nice photo!

Thanks for all the feedback so far. I will keep this stuff in mind. I also know that the camera I am using is not the best even for being on a budget and will need to be replaced within the near future.

IRingTwyce - that site has some pretty good stuff on it, thanks.
