Fall Meet Idea thread

Hey guys, looking to get the fall meet together. Let me know what ideas you have or if someone else would like to host and set everything up.

Here are some ideas that I posted before, any combination would work. Or any other idea.

I would tenatively put the date at 10/20, but if there is another date that works better then that can be the date. I will setup a poll on this later.

If you haven't seen it, I did create a facebook event for the fall meet. So I will link that here and link this thread there.

So lets have some ideas and dates.

Here are some ideas in this area that I suggested before.

Mystic Aquarium - self explainitory

Clydes Cider Mill - Only steam powered apple press in country, watch fresh apples being pressed, sell cinder, apple wine and hard cider

Essex Steam Train - Did this a few years ago. Train and riverboat ride

Mystic Seaport - near downtown Mystic, old sailing ships and era village

Submarine Force Museum - See the USS Nautilus the first nuclear powered sub, take the tour of the forward end. Museum has some history of submarines

Ledyard Sawmill - water powered sawmill, on a good driving road

Avery Point - nice place to stop at down by the water

Harkness State Park - another nice spot to stop at by the water

Waterford Speedbowl - dirt track racing

Of course the casinos are not to far away.



So at this time I would suggest the Essex Steam Train and River Boat. I think that everyone enjoyed that back around 2007.
 
I'm interested, I'm finally back in a Cougar.. and apparently in an area where there are actually other owners?? Whatever date works for me.
 
Ok, I checked out the schedule for the Steam Train/River Boat and the fall season ends on Oct. 22nd. So if anyone wants to go that can still happen on the 20th or 21st.

Since it sounds like many can not make those dates we can still have a meet on Nov 3rd. The Cyder Mill is now doing pressing on the weekend at 11, 1 and 3.

The 27th is open for me, weather permiting for the 'tour obvious. hopefully it is nice out and I can take her for a nice ride before winter storage. end of the month is pretty much storage time for the contour and the stang so it would be nice. some how I don't think we will get an extended driving season like last year.
 
I'm still interested, most dates work for me. Say the 27th or the 3rd? There is a disconnect between the facebook page and this page - seems people are following one or the other.
 
sorry, I have to get the two back in sync.

Last day for the Essex steam train is the 22nd. So if anyone is interested in that it would have to be this Sunday or next weekend.

Then if anyone is around and wants to hang out on Nov 3rd that can be done also.
 
OK, I am changing this to Nov 3rd. So it will be more of a time to hang out. There are some good roads near by that are fun to drive. We can stop at the Cider Mill and go from there. Also there is a Focus Fanatics meet at Mohegan also, so we could drop in up there.
 
just FYI, as of this time I do not have any power. So I'll leave it up to everyone if they still want to stop by.
