Hey guys, some ideas for what we can do for a meet in South Eastern CT .... possible the fall meet ...

Mystic Aquarium - self explainitory

Clydes Cider Mill - Only steam powered apple press in country, watch fresh apples being pressed, sell cinder, apple wine and hard cider

Essex Steam Train - Did this a few years ago. Train and riverboat ride

Mystic Seaport - near downtown Mystic, old sailing ships and era village

Submarine Force Museum - See the USS Nautilus the first nuclear powered sub, take the tour of the forward end. Museum has some history of submarines

Ledyard Sawmill - water powered sawmill, on a good driving road

Avery Point - nice place to stop at down by the water

Harkness State Park - another nice spot to stop at by the water

Waterford Speedbowl - dirt track racing

Of course the casinos are not to far away.

So let me know if anyone is interested and what you are interested in.

I already believe Matt will be coming back down in a few weeks to go to the Cider Mill.

Make it more centralized in New England? No way im driving the turbo car to Ct and back lol.

Interested! We could do this as a mid September meet or save it for an October fall cruise. Either way it will be good to attend a meet.

SVT is back on the road and I should have it re-inspected by then. ;) Had issues with ODB-II emissions because the battery was disconnected.

can have a meet/get together in September and October if everyone wants.

Depending on what everyone wants to do it might be better to have two seperate dates.

I highly recommend the Cider Mill, however it can be very busy and could take an hour or more depending. The Submarine Force museum will take a few hours also, so they would work well together. The aquarium will take serveral hours, as would the steam train/river boat. Those two are the more expensive options also.

So I will setup what ever, just let me know. Can entertain other locations/places also. But feel free to set something up and invite everyone if you choose to.

As for a meet/drive. If anyone wants I can meet at the MA/CT state line. RT 163 is a good drive to take.

I'm interested and September is pretty much wide open for me except for Saturday the 22nd. The Cider Mill is something my fiance and me have wanted to do for awhile, but any of them sound great. I'm hoping I have the ST by the time we meet. ;)

Ok, thanks for the feedback.

Lets set this up for the Sept 8th. Lets say we meet at my place around 10 am.

Also a heads up, the parking lot is dirt and not very big, so it would be best to car pool over. We can all drive but we might end up having to park on the street. You will get a ticket if all 4 wheels are not off the street. The area gets really busy.

After that we can figure out what we want to do. We can go somewhere to take photos, go for lunch/dinner.

I would also suggest a quick run over to the Submarine museum to at least tour the Nautilus.

I forgot that the dog is getting groomed that same morning, so we'll be there but a little late. We'll probably just meet you at the Cider Mill unless he happens to be ready to go really early.
