But for $40K, they can copy whatever they want. I do wonder how stable it actually is going to be at 100+ MPH.

There is a reason why supercars are so expensive.. and its not markup.

I actually met this guy and talked with him about the design. I sat in that car they are showing. He designed most of that car with a few other engineers.

here is a link to my previously posted thread, it is a really nice car,owe yah, forgot, that one has an LS7 in it. Crazy, complete fiberglass body with a steel frame and carbon fiber.

Factory 5 racing was in the works of something like that, I don't know if they ever made it or not. the shell was made of CF and the chasis was from the corvette, using the vette LS block. they were looking at 25 for the kit. but I am sure that after everything it would be closer to what this one is going for

Actually, Factory Five is one of the bigger names in kit cars. Decent reviews in everything I've read. The GTM is cheap because you're doing the vast majority of the heavy labor. Figure ~$40k in parts, and probably ~$20k in man-hours, and you've got a $60k car.

And let's not forget that there are a TON of decent cars under $40k.

Baco, I'd mentioned the GTM on the old forums last year. I spied a Factory Five AC Cobra the day we closed on the house, and decided to poke around their site. The GTM is a VERY nice little car. And I do mean little. But it's got power to back it up! You can hit the Factory Five shop, as it's open to the public. If you go, have fun! :)

Definitely true. The real cost if the car is actually at the $60-70k level with a LS1, and more than that with an LS2 or LS7.
