  • Best option for replacing all 3 catalytic converters? Headers??

Hi everyone, I am looking to purchase an SVT Contour this weekend and need to narrow down a car ASAP. I might be able to get a good deal on a particular one based on some repairs it needs. One of the repairs it would be needing is the catalytic converters. Apparently all 3 converters need to be replaced.

I have to go through emissions inspection in my county so I can't completely eliminate cats. If I do headers and a hi-flow cat after the Y-pipe will I pass emissions inspection? Will not having the front cats throw a check engine light? Will I need a tune??

Also, does anyone know of a good source for the least expensive front cats? These cars seem to have each front cat directly connected to each exhaust manifold, and I am only seeing them for as cheap as $400 for each front cat. Thanks a bunch!!

Many people have passed emissions with headers and a hiflow cat. You will need mil eliminators (or a tune) or you will throw a code.
