Reading thru the past messages it looks like a few have installed the 245/50 with out any problems except for some rear tire rubbing on the rear trailing link during autocross exercises? Is that the only problem with this size?

If someone knows the std SVT wheel offset I'd like to know (49?). My car is a 1998.

Soliciting comment from anyone who has used the 16 x 7 Ford Motorsport wheel (i.e. offset compatable?).

Thanks,

PCL

Older SVT's are more likely to rub than newer ones due to well liner design. Also, what i've read about the 245/50's is that rolling the fender lip is usually required.

I would guess you're going to get rubbing in that size even during normal driving. And 245's are considered too wide for our standard wheels by almost everyone.

I think the deck is stacked against ya.

I've got a very minimal amount of tire rubbing on the back struts that I only know is there because there's a clean area about a qtr inch wide ... no damage to the tire whatsoever and I'd buy 225's again. Get yourself a wheel spacer (1/4") and some longer studs and you won't have any issues at all.

Thanks guys ... I also got into the achives and found a lot of related threads.

Still looking for confirmation on offsets.

I see a lot of dialog about E0 and E1 Wheels ... is that early SVT vs late SVT Contour style? Different offset?
