A lot of the import guys around here switch their fronts to decrease weight as well as remove the negative effects of larger wheel/tire diameters (in the name of gearing I believe). A while back my brother raced a supercharged civic in his bmw 323Ci. He won but because he had better traction in the begining of the race. he got about 2 car lengths in the begining, and it stayed like that till about 140 or so.
