I guess I'm kinda the new guy around here, I'd love to meet up with some of you, I live in south Louisville, really close to Churchill Downs. i noticed that someone mentioned meeting at an autoX, and in another post are a list of several autoX's at both Papa John's Stadium and Churchill Downs, either sounds good to me. I've never autoXed but I've wanted to try it.

If you ever see my car on the road don't hesitate to flag me down. Just look for the vanity plate and a Ford Blue oval plate on the front.

I was planing on trying to get a meet together in late may maybe. that way it is warm and school is out.
INMHO i think we sould meet first and get to know each other, and our cars, before we race at autoX, but if you think different the next meet is on 4/2 @ churchill

I agree with JPS3. We should all get together to check out each others cars and maybe go to dinner or something.

Just give me a good notice of when the meet would be. Need to make sure I get off work and such. I wish there were some CEG people in Owensboro.

Oh, someone is selling their '99 Contour SVT in the local paper here. Black with praire tan interior, has 19k listed for miles. I'm hoping it isn't this guy that I talked with one time. He bought his car a few days after I got mine. If I see him again I'll make sure to tell him about CEG.

The New Car Show is coming up on April 6,7 and 8 (fri,sat,sun) and I can probably get some free tickets. It's at the Fair and Expo Center which is right near my house. We could all meet to check out each others rides then take 1 or 2 cars to the show because you have to pay for parking. I also am very interested about eventually doing an AutoX. The one on May 20th sounds good. You have to have a helmet in order to enter, right? Anyway just keep me posted on whats going on.

Joe, whenever you want to hit the autox let me know. The first events at Fort Knox should be a blast. The tracks are super fast. All you need to do is show up and pass a basic safety ispection (no loose items in the car, and tight wheel bearings). The club had loaner helmets if you don't have one. Let me know when you're going to go. I can give you a ride around the course. It's not that I'm any good, but once I spin a time or two it usually puts everyone else at ease with their driving. I can't tell you guys how much fun autox is.

I appreciate the offer Chris. I've always wanted to try the Tour in an AutoX. Since I live in south Louisville and Churchill Downs and Papa Johns Stadium are almost right next door I was interested in the ones located there. I've been looking for the best price on a Snell 95 helmet, because I'm sure once I do my first event I'll be addicted. I've already been through the novice manual on SCCA's web site and can't wait till I get to try it for myself.

So far Contour Crazy and JPS3 have both expressed intrest in going to the New Car Show. Anyone else? Mark VIII, Beyond Loaded SE, rrxp689, jbsvt? I was thinking we could go Fri. or Sat. and maybe go to dinner or something. And you can't beat the price (I can get a few free tickets) all you have to pay for is parking, and if we meet first and carpool to the Fair and Expo Center it should only be a couple bucks per car. Just let me know so I can request some tickets.

Sounds like fun but I can't give a definite. We are moving this weekend and will have a lot to do the next couple weeks getting settled in. I'll let you guys know closer to that weekend.
