Hey all,

I won a gift certificate to Lowe's and used it to pick up this impact wrench wrench/air ratchet set. It was the last one they had in stock, and I've heard nothing but good things about IR tools- so I didn't mind paying the extra $50 out of pocket.

I just want to hear some of your recommendations on a compressor- brands, capacity, etc. It would be used mainly to power automotive tools, including a die grinder & air hammer in the near future. I've got a few "learning" projects ready to go, so it would be seeing regular use....

TIA

Wal-Mart has a good selection in the automotive department. They usually have a couple of large 220 volt compressors with 30 gallon or 60 gallon tanks. The portable 110 volt air compressors don't have enough air for the die grinders or sand blasters.

Why the hell didn't I get one of these earlier?

Thanks for the suggestions, fellas.

For those who are interested, I bought this one from the local Sears.

It was in the clearance section (customer returned it last Saturday) marked at $264. I told them a Sears farther from me had the exact same one on clearance for $231 (which they did). Not only did the MIC match the price, she beat it by $15. *Plus*, it still carries the factory warranty, too.

This ought to make the 3L swap go a tad faster.

Just thought I'd share.
